Product Description The best stocks are simmered slowly over steady, low heat. Calphalon's 12-qt. Stock Pot is crafted of heavy-gauge aluminum to cook ingredients evenly, at just the right temperature. Stick-resistant surface won't react with most foods. Includes flat, anodized lid.
Amazon.com Review Calphalon Commercial hard-anodized pans are made for the more serious cook who is looking for kitchenware built to last a lifetime. This large-size, 12-quart stockpot is good for soup, stews, and pasta, and its heavy-gauge aluminum construction also stands up to deep frying. The looped handles are easy to grip and stay cooler than you might expect, thanks to V-shaped splits where they meet the pan, but it's still a good idea to keep hot pads nearby. The nonporous and nonreactive hard-anodized surface resists sticking and doesn't affect the flavor or color of food. It's also tough enough to handle stainless-steel utensils and vigorous whisking. Unlike pans with plastic or wood handles, the extremely sturdy all-metal construction provides you the flexibility to take the pan to the oven or broiler. But do remember to hand wash your Calphalon pans--dishwasher detergents are bad for the finish and their use voids the lifetime warranty. --Dale Steinke

not as thought December 27, 2008 K. Nolan 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
This is a very thin pot not what I thought. The lid does not fit properly.
very good stockpot December 16, 2008 M.M. (Ohio, USA) I read a lot of reviews before I finally purchased this product. I didn't have anything bigger than a 6-qt pot so I had to borrow a friend's Calphalon hard anodized stockpot to cook for a party. I was extremely satisfied with it so I decided to get one for myself. I got it during the kitchen sale and it was promptly delivered. It is a very good stockpot. The handles are wide, positioned well, and don't get too hot. It is easy to hand wash except that if you have a shallow kitchen sink it might be too hard to move around. Wash it in the utility sink instead. I gave it 4 stars because I have a problem with the flat lid. Whenever I lift the lid the condensation on the underside of the lid runs off in all directions. I don't get this problem with domed lids. With domed lids, the condensation runs down the middle when you tilt the lid open. No spills, so steam burns. I will probably use a different lid for this pot.
Great stock pot December 12, 2008 S. J. Snyder (Worthington, OH United States) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I've never had a better stock pot and doubt this one will spring a leak like my last! Easy to clean and durable. No home should be without one.
Noisy Pot December 8, 2008 Lisa D. Lauretti (Connecticut) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I used this for the first time the other night to boil some pasta. The pot did a nice job but it's noisy when the liquid is at a rolling boil. Also, pay attention to the height. if you don't have an extra deep sink or an adjustable faucet, you may find it a little difficult to wash.
An Amazing Pot ;-) !! December 8, 2008 W. Wedell (Orlando,FL) Great Stockpot! I own several Calphalon products and this is now definitely on my favorite list. Its very sturdy and the lids fits amazingly(some lids typically do not) I love to use it to feed my Army of friends and family, also it being so big its actually pretty easy to clean. Once again to sum it up, I LOVE THIS POT! ;-)
