A waffle baker, grill, and griddle, this three-in-one appliance comes in handy during breakfast, lunch, dinner, and after school. Key to the unit's versatility are two 8-inch-square cooking plates--one set into the product's bottom and the other into the hinged top. On one side the plates form grids for making four waffles at once. Flipped over to show their flat sides they're capable of top and bottom grilling a sandwich or steak. To create griddle space, the top opens up flat, forming two 8-inch-square cooking surfaces for all foods that love a griddle--such as pancakes, hash browns, and eggs. Channels send grease to spouts in the griddles' corners, where it drains away. Nonstick to release food easily and wipe clean, the cooking plates also can be removed for scrubbing.  Maybe a good grill but not so for waffles January 9, 2009

If you are looking for a waffle maker then buy a waffle maker and not this items that claims to also be a grill. Did a lousy job of cooking the first batch of waffles. Sticking like crazy to the top plate that was well oiled. The non-stick surface isn't. Also very slow to heat up. Outside surface is as hot as the plates because of the placement of heating element between surface and plate. I liked the idea of removable plates but no more.
I will try to return and buy a true waffle maker.

Overall this is a good product. The only complaint I have is that the lid doesn't really have any weight to it to press down on the meat evenly but it made the burgers fine. The waffle side worked great.

This waffle iron from day one has been nothing but a problem. Our old waffle iron died and we had made wonderful waffles on it for several years, practically each Sunday. We purchased this item and every first waffle always sticks. Our favorite dinner has now just not been happening because this waffle iron has ruined it. The first waffle always sticks. This past Sunday we tried it after the first one stuck and the second one stuck too. We know how to make waffles, have read and followed every instruction to the letter and no dice. The waffles get so stuck that the waffle iron won't even open. We'll be looking for a new waffle iron.

I have had my griddle for 20+ years and have been very happy with it. It has served my family well making lots and lots of waffles. So when the time came to get a waffle iron for my daughter, I could think of no better one than this. My daughter made her first batch of waffles after Christmas and her guests said they were the best waffles they had ever had!
