I just shoveled nearly 10 cu yards of topsoil with this transfer shovel today, and I can offer my unconditional support. The handle shape and profile make for good balance and control. This shovel isn't light, but the balance is good - I didn't really find the weight too bothersome. It's a very nice shovel - I'd definitely buy it again if I had to, but the quality of construction suggests I won't have to.

There is not a better transfer shovel on the market. In fact, all the Fiskar shovels and other lawn and garden tools are excellent. The real winner here though is Amazon.com. I am always confident when I order from Amazon. And on those rare occasions when there is a problem with a product from Amazon, they always work to insure that the customer's problem is resolved.

really should'd bought the d-handle one, it scoops big, and you lose balance while it swings, by itself it's well balanced, why no telescouping or squre handles for this thing yet? Steel shaft might be too big for many women as well.
