Fiskars 12-foot Saw November 6, 2008 Stephen D. Anthers Have had a couple of this type of pole saw before, but they were always the combo type with the pruner head and rope - neither one worked safely or easily - this one is a great tool to use - and that is what I got it for.
pruner reviewer October 17, 2008 Henry R. Parry (Lady Lake Fl.) needing an extending pruner for my palm trees this unit fits the bill perfectly. it is easy to use. sharp, which to me is most important. it avoids the use of a ladder, at my age this is vital. it allows me to stand away from falling pruned branches.
Excellent Inexpensive Pole Saw for light trimming... October 16, 2008 eMall4Antiques (Colorado, USA) At approximately $30 with free Super Saver shipping, this saw is an excellent buy for light trimming of low-hanging branches. We used it on a 3 inch green ash branch about 16 feet off the ground, and while it took patience, it worked fine. For smaller branches 2 inches or less it is great. From some of the snippy reviews here we expected much less therefore we were very pleased with the product. For a $30 product, it is definitely not flimsy. Shipping was not only free, but very prompt.
Very good September 1, 2008 J. Kovsky (Texas) This unit is probably not the best on the market, but fits me perfectly. It is very light, and locks quite well. Only problem with the lock is it's hard to open to extend the pole (which is a good thing). Saw itself is fairly substantial. I have been borrowing one that has a lopper on it also, but didn't want to pay the price for that. For the money, this Fiskars is tops. Brand name sold me.
Don't waste your money! August 18, 2008 Big Dog (Andover, MA USA) 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
This saw was advertised as a "professional" tool. I would not hire anyone who used this piece of crap. The blade is so flimsy that it wobbles during use, and it binds in shallow kerfs. The pole is flimsy and bends when extended. The saw is barely sharp enough to cut butter. All around, this product is a piece of crap. The only good thing about this buying experience is that I did not have to pay shipping costs. This saw will be on the Friday morning trash pile. It is a good candidate for recycling.
