 Not what I expected February 26, 2010

While the shears seem well-made, I was disappointed, because I had intended to use them to trim the edge sides of my lawn not accessible by the reel lawn mower. The photo on the product page shows a man who seems to do just the same, but unless I'm missing something obvious, I don'r see how I can use the shears in the up-right position, since the blades are not at the angle to the handles. I wish I bought Fiskars Long Neck Swivel Grass Shears instead.

I purchased the edging shears to replace a very old but very useful tool left behind during a house sale. This replacement, shiny and new, is so far very stiff and hard on the hands. Hopefully with time the effort required to close them will become easier. Perhaps a string trimmer would have been easier. It does solve the bending problem for which I'm grateful.

Spear & Jackson Edging shears What a great buy, a simple well made garden tool built for the job it has to do, well made, lightweight and easy to maintain (with a 10yr) warranty. i highly recommend this item, in fact I am no stranger to Spear & Jackson tools, all their tool range is excellent quality.
