Neat product July 21, 2008 M. Ruppel (St. Louis) I ordered the medium size because my pond is only about 1000 gallons. The most time consuming part is stuffing the holes with the soil and it's not that bad. It's kind of a pain to take the soil away from the plants and expose the roots before planting them in the island. Suggestions: 1. Use pond perennials so they come back every year and you don't have to replant. Pond plants thrive in wet conditions so they are ideal for this. 2. Invest in an anchor. It'll just be easier, trust me. 3. Remember that you can always "stretch" the holes to fit your pond plant into the island hole. I planted three different kinds of blooming pond perrenials and then I lined the outside with tufts of "golf course greens" grass, which will spread out. Don't feel like you need to cover the island with grass. It looks great in its natural brown color. Beautiful in a pond -- really looks like an island!
