5 out of 5 stars Works as described but a major flaw (see update)   June 17, 2008

I was recently at an outdoor bar in Milwaukee and they had these on the patio. I decided right then and there that I wanted one but probably could never find it at a price I could afford. Amazon had a Friday Special price of $399 and I snatched it up after ready the reviews.
It arrived this afternoon and the most difficult part of assembling the unit was getting the package from the front of the house where it had been left to the back porch.
The instructions were fairly straightforward and I had it put together in about 30 minutes tops. I would suggest that you turn the unit on its side in order to access the wing nut which is located at the end of the table closer to the firepit. Other than that the assembly went as smooth as I could have hoped and I do not consider myself beyond a novice level in my mechanical aptitude. After just a couple of screwdrivers and some head scratching I was up and running and watching a sunset, sipping on a beer and enjoying my new fire pit.
If I had one change to make it would be in the included canvass cover. I would much rather some sort of removable "lid" like the cover on a wok pot. It would be a much more practical option.
I am planning on many a quiet summer evening out on my patio enjoying my purchase.
UPDATE Sept 8 2008
I've had the fire pit for 3 months now. I noticed awhile ago that the outside layer of the fire logs appeared chipped. I thought this odd since I have not handled the logs at all and only use the fire pit as described. Today I went out and was shocked to see that the chipping has gotten MUCH worse. To make matters worse when I picked up one of the logs to adjust it's position half of the log fell off in my hand. See photo at

I will be contacting the manufacturer and I will let you know what they say.
Update: I contacted Amazon who gave me the number for the retailer. I cantacted the retailer who gave me the number for the manufacturer. I contacted the manufacturer who agreed to send me a new set of logs. But I want to know how this happened in the first place.

5 out of 5 stars Great for my patio   September 10, 2007

The unit looks nice, although a touch more plastic looking that I would hope. Setup was easy overall.

However, the instructions say to hold the knob in for 60 seconds after ignition to get the unit to stay lit. That doesnt seem to work... If I let go, the unit turns off. I physically dont hear the gas anymore.

********* UPDATE ************

There is a little copper inlet that needs to be screwed down. After that the problem was gone. Should have been in the manual. Now this is a 5-star.

After searching my local hardware and discount chains as well as the internet, I had given upon finding a gas powered fire pit that was both attractive and affordable. I stumbled upon this Agio firepit table by sheer luck and I couldn't be more thrilled with my purchase! It was easy to assemble, it ignites easily, and it more that warms my covered deck on a cool evening! The table area is small but still functional. I could definitely serve appetizers on it and there is more than enough room for 2 cups of coffee! The firepit design is beautiful and the neutral colors complement any decor. I highly recommend this product!
