 They Do Not Work as Advertised March 3, 2010

So far I have tried three out of the four of these lights I purchased and not one of them has worked correctly. The first on started off well, sensing movement from about eight feet away; however, within days, the distance was down to 1-2 feet!!! After less than two weeks, it quit working completely! The second light never sensed movement more than four feet away (down to 1-2 feet now). The third one has the same sensing ability but includes the additional feature of turning itself on without ANY movement in the area. Just to test it, I placed it in a closet and the same thing continues to occur. This is an easy recommendation, "Don't waste your money."

These lights are nice and bright, but they are motion sensitive even in the daylight. I was not aware of that feature due to lack of detail in the description. I feel that they would be wasting batteries turing on all the time during the day in areas that need light at night.

Bought this as single unit late 2008 - now see I could get 2 for what I paid for just one -
It works fine- for where it is being used - does activate from distance
which is a plus when walking into a dark room.
The 10 LED lighting is a plus compared to any w/less LEDs

I bought 4 of these units (two 2-packs). The settings are supposed to be "off," "on" and "motion controlled". In one of them, the motion controlled setting produces a dimmer light (about half strenght or less), and in the other, it usually does not light up at all. I opened the faulty one to see if I could spot the problem, and it is evident that the internal wiring and switch are about as cheap and flimsy as they could make it. And, while having just the on/off choices may sound fine, the switch is on the back, so that it has to be taken down to change the settings. If you plan to install this on a ceiling, be aware that the units are designed for hanging on a flat-head screw on a wall, and it will be difficutl to install on a ceiling. You would not want to stick it on with anything permanent, because the settings and battery access require removal. I installed two of these over a kitchen sink that needed a bit of extra light. It helps brighted the area, but is certainly not enough light to work with (other than, say, to get a glass of water at night) without having the main kitchen light on. It doesn't quite seem as much light as I would have expected from 10 LEDs though. Overall, the two units that work properly do come on with motion, do so reliably, and do cast enough light to significanlty improve the area.

Ordered a two pack and received one... I read the rating that items are single packed and saw no problem with that until I ordered the "double pack" and only received ONE!! I emailed Amazon who normally is quick to correct and was told I had to reorder to get another one. I was offered a credit for the one not received, but why they just won't send me what I ordered?? Not to mention the one I received only had 9 out of 10 lights working... another cheap product from china, and you get what you pay for... well at least one out of tow of what I paid for. (Amazon was very willing to issue credit for one in the end).
