The Oasis Jr. locking mailbox will keep your mail secure and is made for normal household mail volumes and small packages. This locking mailbox sets a new standard in mailbox, security, design, and functionality by providing a large incoming hopper door to accept mail, magazines and parcels. This mailbox is perfect for protecting your Netflix and Blockbuster DVDs from being stolen. If you order DVD's from Blockbuster or NetFlix, the last thing you want is to have a DVD stolen. If a Blockbuster or NetFlix DVD is stolen from your mailbox you may end up paying more than $20 (if you include taxes) for the loss of each DVD. Additionally, if it happens too often, you may lose your privilege to rent DVD's from them. The Oasis also has an outgoing mail clip that is large enough to hold several outgoing letters and/or a Netflix video. The Oasis Jr. Locking Curbside Mailbox is made of 14 gauge and 16 gauge steel. The rubber seal around the doors keeps out rain and dust while the spot & lap welds minimize visible seams and adds strength. Full-width stainless steel piano hinges are used on both doors. There are no visible rivets on the sides or back, and the 8 rivets at the front are specially designed stainless steel. A zinc cam lock with zinc die cast cylinder is included. All instructions, hardware, and 2 keys are included with each mailbox. Only you hold the key, not the mail carrier. This mailbox is coated with a durable black powder coat. I thought for sure that the third time was the charm for buying mailboxes. With the 90 degree angle on the door I thought it was tamper proof, until my wife stuck in her arm up to the elbow and picked up the piece of mail we had in it for testing purposes. I did see one similar online that featured a sawtooth pattern on the back of the door, I was thinking of sharpening this to a razor sharpness but the wife said no. ;^) Back to the drawing board.

Mailbox is heavy duty and very spacious. The latch could be longer so we changed it for better security. Impossible to reach into. My only issue is the length of the catch on the latch. Otherwise I highly recommend it.

This mailbox does exactly what it is supposed to - hold large amounts of mail securely. Styling is a bit plain, so that is why the 4 stars instead of 5, but otherwise this has worked out for our family. It will easily hold mail for at least 3-4 days and can fit some of the smaller cardboard boxes in the chute.

Had the mailbox up for a few days and so far so good. I love that no outsiders can just reach in (especially around Christmas time) and grab your mail and small packages out my mailbox now. I love that with this box you can also stick outgoing mail onto the little clip inside the drop bin in. It seems very well built. In order to mount in onto a regular wooden mail post you can buy at a hardware store, such as Homedepot or Lowes, you will need to buy an extra piece of thick wood and put a lot of nails (not screws - too easy to mess up) and an L-shape bracket just to keep your new large mailbox secure on top of the post (just place it directly ontop of the post) - this is somewhat easy to do- you just need an extra hand to do it. You don't have to buy anything else besides a thick around 1foot by 11/2 foot 2 inch thick wood piece. Also, this mailbox is only around $95 when I bought it from Homedepot online - and free shipping.

We have had the Oasis Jr mailbox for about 6 mos now.
We were having problems with stolen mail and could not see our box on the street from our home.
We considered the larger Oasis mailbox but are glad we got this one. It is plenty large for our needs.
A few weeks ago we had vandals hit our neighborhood. While our box is no longer plumb it handled the abuse better than the neighbors standard boxes up and down the street. I was impressed!
The reason I gave it 4 stars is we have a hard time unlocking it and are thinking about putting in a different lock.
