Decent composterOctober 5, 2008 D. MacDonald(toronto, ontario, canada Canada) 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
Well it is a composter. Its not a plasma screen TV. Its not all that complicated and not that hard to screw up.
I have owned other composters and this one has some nice qualities. The composter is fairly attractive. It adds a point of interest in the yard. The lid is a flip top. A lot of other composters have a lid you have to take off while you work. This makes access much faster and easier. Lids also tend to attract spiders and other denizens of the yard. The faster you can get in and out the better. It is also very easy to put together. No tools needed and once you figure out how the sides snap together you'll have it up and running in minutes. Delivery was fast and the composter was well packaged. The box also had a hotline number on it to replace broken parts should that happen. My unit was in good condition so I didn't need to use it. This composter is exactly the size i was looking for. Not really excited about the price tag, but composters are fairly expensive (considering they're just a box). This one was fairly cheap for its size. Most outdoor composters, including this one, do not have a bottom btw. Thought I should warn buyers since most of them have nice pictures of them sitting on a wooden deck. Not a good idea :).
Having said that this composter does have two problems I felt detracted from a full 5 star rating. The first is the unit is a bit flimsy, especially the access doors on the bottom and especially compared to other composters I have owned. The second is the unit does not have any way to anchor it to the ground. Most have holes for metal pins or such that keep the unit steady during high wind or when you're moving plant material around. Not sure why the designer didn't put that on the unit.

Easy to snap together. Had it together and my first load of compost added within 30 minutes.
