5 out of 5 stars Thee Best   August 28, 2008

This is the very best vacuum for the dollar made. I have a thousand gallon pond with plants and fish. I bought a four hundred dollar vacuum (won't name the brand) but you can guess. Used it for a year and it finally ended up in the land fill. This vacuum is a sucking machine. Tried the hose vacuum but didn't work very well even with sixty psi. Bought this machine and it sucks up the pee gravel and waste up plus the string algae with no problem.

This is the best thing you can buy for your pond.It eats sludges for lunch. Extremely effective in cleaning the sludges accumulated at the bottom of the pond. The manual is not very user friendly. Do not get confused and try to put the paper bag inside the vaccum. That is needed only if you do dry vaccum, which I doubt you are buying this for. The discharge pipe could be longer. Right now it is not that long and can cause spillage. Trust me, you don't want spillage anywhere on your patio !

5 out of 5 stars Worth every penny!   April 7, 2008

When I first looked at this pond vac, I was a little put off by the price of it. But after some research, I decided to try it. It was awesome! Our pond is under 3 trees that fill the pond with leaves every fall. We cover it with a net and scoop out as much as we can, but it's never enough. It's a hassle to clean every spring, and before the pond vac, we were never able to get it very clean. This year is completely different, and we were amazed at how well this product works. It automatically turns off and empties the canister when it is full and then automatically restarts. There are several attachments that you can use when cleaning, and the one we found the most helpful was the adjustable sludge attachment. The hose is long enough to reach all the way to the bottom of the pond, and the suction is strong enough to pull up many leaves at once without draining too much water. The only negative things that I can say about this product deal with the instruction manual. It does not have very many diagrams and the instructions can be hard to follow at times. The different parts are not described individually, and the manual describes the sludge nozzle as having a blue side when it is actually green. The manual needs to be updated since it does a disservice to an otherwise fantastic product. I highly recommend this pond vac to anyone who wants to have an easier cleaning and maintenance program for their pond. It really is worth every penny!
