Product Description The Plant Nanny is a specially-engineered ceramic stake that waters your plant easily and beneficially. Inserted into moist soil near the root base, the Nanny will release water as the soil begins to dry, so it won't under-water or over-water your plants. A recycled wine bottle serves as the water reservoir and adds a decorative flair to the plant. The water level can be seen through the glass so that you know when it is time to refill the bottle. Each set of four is attractively label-wrapped for gift-giving.

My plants will love them February 18, 2010 T. Lee (Southern CA) These came very promptly. I haven't used these, but have used some I bought at a garden center type store last summer. These really helped, refilled the wine bottles once a week in the heat of the summer.
Pleased with "wine bottle plant nanny watering stakes" September 21, 2009 Annette Christine (Golden Vallyey, MN USA) My house plants have looked better ever since I started using the "nanny's". Now they are getting consistent water as they need it. It really takes the worry out of when to water. They are convenient all the time but especially when you are very busy or are gone for a few days. I would definately recommend these. It is also a great way to recycle our wine bottles.
Garden Stakes minus One September 9, 2009 Karen B. I really like these. They help out in my containers. I only put glass soda bottles in mine, so they don't take the place of watering for more than one day. Be careful when putting them in the dirt. Make a hole first, put the stake in, fill the bottled with water, THEN put it in the stake. If you push the stake in deeper with the bottle in it, the stake will break. They are more fragile than they look. Probably with a wine bottle and two in a pot, they could last for several days. I also live in a hot climate, so that probably makes a difference.
Perfect plant sitter September 1, 2009 Patricia Fusco (Sanford,Fl.) I travel alot and live in Florida where it's hot, hot, hot. My poor plants were drying out while I was away and they were really stressed. I have used the plant nannies in my potted plants that require extra water and it has helped tremendously. I'm ready to order some more!!!
I had an open house for my fellow gardener friends and they were all asking about them and saw how well they worked. What a great idea someone had!!!
They are easily broken so you do have to be careful and follow the directions.
Great for people who love plants but don't have lots of time to tend to them. August 29, 2009 Geneva Rad (Chicago area) I bought my first set of these at Smith and Hawkin, and then found these online. They work great and look much better (with a wine bottle) than the ones that use a plastic 2 liter bottle. They also hold much more water than the aqua globes.
