Product Description The spice granite color and interplay between rough and highly polished surfaces create an intriguing yet understated accent for your home. The flat back minimizes dead space between the barrel and your home's exterior. The system includes a 58 Gallon Rain Barrel with a built-in base, cover, worry-free water diverter kit and threaded spigot for easy garden hose attachment, and a detailed installation guide.

FISKARS RAIN BARREL August 25, 2010 Norman Renfrow 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
The drain valve should be a few inches lower, as it takes more than 15 gallons of water to reach the level of the valve. This leaves more than 25% of the collected water unusable, unless you open the top lid and dip out remaining water with a bucket.
Pretty Cool August 8, 2010 T. K. Daugherty (Wisconsin) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I had to work pretty hard to establish a level base for this unit (the house is on a hill). The night after installation, we had a hard rain and I ran out the next morning to check the barrel; it had worked but the weight of the water and my poor job of leveling led it to fall over. My second try was better and the barrel has been a solid performer so far. This seems to me be one of the easiest and most practical ways to "go green."
Fiskars 5998 Rain Barrel July 24, 2010 LLL (Durham, NC) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This is an attractive and solid rain barrel. The design for the water run off from the gutter is good and the fitting over the cutout on the gutter fits nicely. I did need to trim the drain line from the gutter as there was too much slack in the line and the bin did not fill as rapidly as it could have. I purchased two and did not have a problem with the lids as they both fit securely on the top. As they are new, I don't know how durable the water spigots are, but feel that they are a standard size and can be easily replaced. I installed the first one on one inch pavers although I will raise the barrel(s)to facilitate the water flow when using a hose attached to the unit. The directions were simple and easy to follow.
enough water for a drought July 20, 2010 Michele Green We got this 58-gal rain barrel because we've been having a drought here in northern Wisconsin. My husband installed it fairly quickly - even to putting it up on blocks and leveling it. We also set a block into the ground to set the bucket/watering can on at a comfortable height. The cover installs fairly tight - no critters are going to go swimming in it! The only thing we would change is that the spigot is about 8" - 10" above the bottom of the barrel, which will make emptying it somewhat of a chore if there's a shortage of rain (probably has something to do with structural integrity of a rigid plastic barrel holding that much water). But other than that, the spigot has threads which allows the attachment of a garden hose to bring the water where needed. Full, the water has fair pressure, but not sure whether it could power a garden sprayer. We may try it on a soaker hose. Hate to waste a drop, so we usually fill cans and buckets. Overall, its a great way to conserve water!
Really Nice! July 16, 2010 Amazon Junkie (SC) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
We bought two of these barrels and had them installed. They filled up in no time. We aren't mechanically inclined and are having problems connecting a hose pipe to the barrel, though. Seems like the connection on the barrel is either a little too small or big; can't tell which. The water stays very fresh, and it really does come out of the spigot nicely. After reading some of the other reviews, I may have someone install a second spigot. Overall, I am very pleased with the purchase and would get more barrels if I had the room. Very good deal, very sturdy, and attractive.
