Very pleased August 27, 2010 James O. Elam (Virginia) Book looked new, was received in record time. Now all I need are some worms.
wormderful! August 4, 2010 oPinonateD I just got my worms and this book was an easy quick read providing all I needed to know to care for them. I hope to be fertilizing my garden with worm compost in another couple months.
Worms have been eating my garbage since 2003 May 23, 2010 nobreakspace (washington, dc) This a must have book for vermicomposting. It covers and answers all the questions you might have as a beginner and keeps you going for a few years. I've been composting since 2003, and although I refer to the book less and less over the years, I used the heck out this book for the first 2 years. It almost covers everything (99%). If you can maintain a compost bin for more than 3 years, then you might need more specific info on the web, but otherwise, this is the book to have.
I highly recommend this book. I highly recommend letting worms eat your garbage.
Great resource for people new to vermicomposting! May 16, 2010 Reiki Master 60657 (Chicago, IL) This is a great resource for people considering getting started in vermicomposting. I got this book and read it cover-to-cover about 3 times before recently setting up my worm bin. I also checked out several online sites and forums about vermicomposting before I got started.
This book is not overly long (~150 pages) nor complicated, and it covers all the basics very well. This is a great place to start your "worming" journey. But I would also recommend checking out the online forums where people tell about their own personal experiences and ask other vermicomposters for advice.
A must read for anyone interested in becoming a "worm worker"! May 15, 2010 K. Driskell (Salem, Or) I had just begun composting my kitchen scraps with a worm bin and my worms were surviving, but I still had questions and not sure where to turn. Everyone had a different idea and I was uncertain as to the best things to do. Then I heard about "Worms Eat My Garbage" during a lecture on Earth Day this year, but the speaker wasn't sure the book was in print anymore. Amazon had it, of course! I ordered it, and I believe it is a must read for anyone wishing to do vermicomposting (worm composting). It is so informative and educational, very clear and directive, and funny. My worms are fat, sassy, and making bunches of little worms, and I have no concerns what-so-ever that I will be successful with this adventure. I am already recommending this book to my friends and I recommend it to you, too. Worm composting isn't the messy process I thought it was going to be, I keep mine indoors, and I have no smell at all.
