Rain gauge isn't always accurate January 13, 2008 2 boys' mama (Texas) The thermometer is definitely a plus. I've yet to find a better raingauge than the old "freebie" glass ones you hang on your fence. But this gives a general idea without drudging out in the rain or waiting until the next day.
Not so good. May 25, 2007 Bommy (AZ) This didn't last 3 mos. I made no attempt to return or exchange, but I was not happy with the quality of the product. The outside temperature gauge broke within a couple of months.
The perfect gift. January 10, 2007 Backdraft (New Hampshire) I purchased this as a Father's Day gift for my dad, who is an elderly gentleman, and I scored a direct hit. One of his most regular questions was, "How much rain do you think we got last night?" Now I get frequent rainfall updates every time it rains. The product works as well as promised and it was an easy installation.
Don't count on help from La Crosse January 10, 2007 R. Davis Bought 2 units. One system has been working fine. The rain gage in the second system did not communicate with the display right out of the box. Everything else worked OK. Attempts to contact La Crosse were impossible in 2 days of trying. Both contact numbers provided with the unit for tech and warrenty help, neither of which were toll free numbers, were always busy, so don't count on tech help or getting anything warranted. The second defective unit was returned to Amazon for credit.
Weather Gauge January 10, 2007 John V. Bugg I found the La Crose WS-7047U Wireless Rain and Temperature to be very easy to install and operate. The real benefit was the remote sensor to measure outside temperatures. In Florida we have to watch the vegetation very close, it's nice to have a way to check the temperature on that rare occasion when it gets below 30, without stepping outside. I have been very please with it accuracy and dependability.
